Outbound Telesales Consultant - Part Time

Who sees a "no" as a starting point, not a full stop? We're looking for an energetic Outbound Telesales Consultant to help grow newspaper subscriptions across NZME's trusted, iconic publications.
This part-time role, working 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., Monday to Friday, is ideal if you thrive in fast-paced, target-driven environments and genuinely enjoy connecting with people. You'll be building rapport with customers, understanding their needs, and presenting tailored subscription offers that deliver real value — all while playing a meaningful role in connecting New Zealanders with quality journalism they trust.
How You'll Add Value Using outbound calling, you'll connect with residential and business customers to promote newspaper subscriptions and related offers. Day to day, you'll: Call past, cancelled and prospective subscribers with compelling offers Educate customers on subscription options and their benefits Support marketing-led sales campaigns and promotions Cross-sell and upsell NZME products where relevant Resolve basic customer queries and escalate issues when needed Accurately process sales and update customer records Use performance data to refine your approach and hit targets Collaborate closely with your team to share insights and lift results To thrive here, you'll bring: Experience in telesales, customer service or a contact centre environment Confidence communicating over the telephone Strong listening skills and the ability to tailor your pitch Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills A positive, team-focused attitude The motivation to meet and exceed sales targets A genuine interest in media and alignment with NZME's values Why It's Worth It Joining NZME means being part of a supportive, high-energy sales team with real backing behind you.
