HPE NonStop (Tandem) Systems Engineer

Join us and help shape this transformation. Zions is seeking an experienced HPE Non. Stop (Tandem) Systems Engineer that will provide operational support for mission critical, high availability HPE-Non. Stop (Tandem) compute platform. This is a highly converged, fault-tolerant system on which we host our critical ATM and card processing system, Base24.

The HPE Non. Stop (Tandem) Systems Engineer will support the full technology stack for this platform, including operating system, data stores, utilities, capacity, monitoring, automation, deployments, replication, etc. This role is responsible for the administration, stability, performance, and continuous improvement of HPE Non.

Stop (Tandem) platforms for core business operations. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, application, and security teams.

Responsibilities

Administer and support HPE Non. Stop (Tandem) systems Perform system configuration, upgrades, patches, and preventive maintenance Monitor system health, capacity, availability, and performance Partner with application teams for deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies Support disaster recovery (DR), business continuity, and high‑availability architectures Implement system security policies, user access controls, and auditing Analyzes and designs technical solutions to address business needs.

Troubleshoots systems to increase quality of systems. Identifies, investigates, and proposes solutions to technical problems. Develops, tests, and modifies software to improve efficiency of internal operating systems. Provides technical support for issues surrounding software/hardware failures and the like. Provides technical expertise where required within Information Technology Projects.

Prepares and maintains necessary documentation. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s in computer science, information systems or other related field 6+ years of hands‑on experience supporting HPE Non. Stop systems. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications. Experience with Non. Stop capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist of programming and systems analysis and related applications.

Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees. Must be able to meet deadlines. Ability to set and maintain high quality work standards. Ability to lead a group.

Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. Visa Sponsorship: This position is currently not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). Location: This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) if you are within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

Pay Range
