This hands-on manufacturing role combines mechanical assembly, technical skills, specialized equipment, and attention to detail to produce high-quality components used in the electrical power industry.
You will receive training to set up and operate winding equipment, work with copper conductors and insulation materials, and assemble coils according to engineering drawings, bills of materials, and established work instructions. As your skills develop, you will have the opportunity to learn multiple winding processes and work on components for medium power, large power, and extra-high-voltage transformers.
We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, prioritize safety and quality, enjoy learning new technical skills, and are committed to continuous improvement. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area using 5S principles.
Set up, wind, and complete transformer coils according to engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and established work instructions. Prepare winding equipment and materials, including loading cylinders onto mandrels and completing required winding setups. Load cylinder assemblies onto horizontal or vertical winding machines and prepare materials for the winding process.
Wind various coil types using approved procedures and specified configurations. Bend, shape, and position copper conductors; perform induction brazing; install insulation; and align spacers and other components according to engineering requirements. Assist team members with winding, assembly, material handling, and other production activities as needed Verify winding dimensions, alignment, spacing, clearances, and other requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
