Design Office Manager

Role Summary

There is an exciting opportunity for a Design Office Manager at our Centurion branch. This role is suited for a Civil Engineer who will be managing a team of Design Engineers (Civil) Provide most technically effective solution for client and most effective for PERI on standard and complex applications . Provide most technically effective solution for client and most cost effective for PERI on special applications under supervision .

Interaction with the client through face-to-face meetings, email, phone, or MS Teams. Provide technical consultation to Sales Department and Clients, during meetings or technical site service for standard to complex applications . Attend weekly resource planning meetings and advise on project progress. Oversee quality and technical accuracy of all work produced in design team.

Communicate the PERI technical Strategies to the technical team. Prepare and monitor training for the Design Team members.

Key Responsibilities

& Accountabilities: Understand and implement all PERI Engineering relevant directives to all employees reporting to this position. Overseeing and organizing complete formwork/scaffolding design process of the team (correct, accurate and on time). Check and approve all designs for relevant design office. PR signoff on projects when required.

Assess, train, and develop skill level of design team members. Apply In-depht knowledge of PERI design processes and products. Communicate relevant information with other departments. Active participation in technical negotiations and meetings with clients. To have a proactive responsibility and awareness for OHSA procedures related to the area of responsibility.

Assist in the guidance and mentoring of Engineering Designers, Design Draughtsman & Snr Design Draughtsman. Experience/ Qualifications & Skills/Attributes: Minimum 5 years of formwork/scaffolding experience Minimum Requirements : Qualifications Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Skills/Attributes Experience in leading people Entrepreneurial thinking IT proficient (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) High knowledge of PERICAD / CAD Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing) Strong work ethic, open and reliable Trustworthy and honest Driving License Registered Professional or demonstrable progress towards professional registration.
