Job description
Description Schedule: MUST be available Monday-Thursday, 1:30 PM - 5/6:30PM, and Fridays, 11:30 AM - 5/6:30PM. Job Type: Part-time, Non-exempt Pay: $20 per hour Work Location: TBD (One of the 10 Boys and Girls Club Elementary School Sites within the Newhall School District) We are looking for energetic, charismatic individuals who have a passion for working with children and teenagers and who want to make a positive difference in their community.

You will work with children from various socioeconomic backgrounds, making a direct impact on their lives and futures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of youth development programs under the supervision of the Site Coordinator and Club Director. Develop meaningful relationships with youth in an after-school and summer program setting. Engage with children, ensuring their safety, participation, and enjoyment in activities.
Supervise and interact with children (K-6th grade) during after-school hours. Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals and initiatives.
Requirements
MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. Minimum of one year of experience working with children . Must be able to continuously monitor and appropriately supervise children in accordance with program safety requirements. Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations Should be available year round (summer and full school year) Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with children in a positive and effective manner.
Ability to move up to 25 pounds, bend, & move about the classroom & playground for long periods to ensure child safety. Must be able to be stationary for long periods. Some college coursework preferred. Able to pass a drug screen, TB test and Federal background check Professional Development Assistance BGC employees receive tuition assistance and professional development assistance for approved coursework in accordance with company policy.
