Full Stack Developer
Job description
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our Fund Accounting engineering team and help build the financial infrastructure that powers alternative investments at scale. We develop automated, high-reliability platforms that serve some of the world's most sophisticated fund administrators, private equity firms, and hedge funds — helping them operate more efficiently across critical financial workflows.
The candidate will collaborate closely with Product Management throughout the SDLC, gather requirements and deliver production-ready features, and build scalable, reliable, and automated solutions. Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to quickly learn new technologies are essential, while familiarity with finance and accounting concepts is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend feature development using Ruby (3.3.x) and Rails (8.x)
- Frontend application development using React and Redux
- Development of unit and integration tests using RSpec, Cucumber, and Capybara
- Building prototypes and proof-of-concepts (POCs)
- Active participation in recurring team meetings and ceremonies
- Participation in peer code reviews as part of our SDLC and change management processes Mandatory Skills & Experience Degree in Software Engineering or a related field is preferred. 6+ years of full-stack web application development experience with React and Ruby on Rails. Experience with frameworks such as Python / Elixir, PHP / Laravel or similar may compensate for less direct Ruby on Rails experience. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, normalization, and object-relational mapping (ORM). Passion for learning and adopting new technologies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Collaborative approach to software development. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Portuguese fluency is required for positions based in Portugal. Prior experience in the financial industry, including asset and wealth management, hedge funds, or investment banking, will be valued.
