Position Summary

We are hiring a detail-oriented Yard Spotter to support our operations by ensuring the accuracy of trailer documentation, maintaining yard inventory control, and enforcing compliance protocols. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth yard operations and upholding safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maneuver trailers within the yard, transport them to loading docks, and ensure proper placement for loading and unloading. Work closely with warehouse personnel to schedule trailer movements, secure trailer doors, and maintain an organized yard. Follow safety guidelines, conduct vehicle inspections, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain clear communication with the team, report yard issues, and provide shift change briefings. Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and report any damages or issues. Perform pre-trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and keep maintenance records. Identify and suggest ways to improve yard operations.

Be prepared to respond to emergencies according to protocols. Participate in training programs, safety meetings, and complete mandatory classes. Follow environmental guidelines and properly store hazardous materials. Maintain cleanliness in the operations area and vehicles. Adhere to company policies including the Standard of Conduct, Drug & Alcohol, Equal Opportunity (EO), and Sexual Harassment policies, and comply with the no-smoking policy.

Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL (required for yard truck operation) Valid DOT Medical Card Active registration in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse Minimum 3 years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience (local, regional, or OTR) Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening PPE Requirements Steel-toe or composite-toe boots required Benefits and Compensation (Available after 90 days) Hourly pay: $21.
