Science Lab Instructor

Key Responsibilities

Prepare laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology practical sessions. Assist teachers and students during laboratory experiments and demonstrations. Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and laboratory materials. Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables.

Keep laboratory records, stock registers, and equipment maintenance logs. Enforce laboratory safety rules and ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct routine inspections to ensure laboratory cleanliness and safety. Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.

Support science exhibitions, projects, competitions, and other academic activities. Ensure compliance with school policies and laboratory safety standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline. Diploma or certification in Laboratory Technology is preferred. Prior experience in a school, college, or research laboratory is an advantage.

Experience 3+5 years: Preferred for schools seeking experienced laboratory instructors. Working Conditions Work in school science laboratories and classrooms. Handle laboratory chemicals, equipment, and specimens while adhering to safety guidelines. May be required to support science fairs, practical examinations, and extracurricular science activities.
