If you are ready to make a difference, join us. The Impact You'll Have This position is responsible for reviewing, preparing and analyzing risk for renewals, proposals, and benefit changes. The underwriter is responsible for negotiation with sales or account management for final price and product configuration, support, documentation, and communication of the same.

What You'll Do

Analyzes and evaluates existing and new business standard risk. Provides communication to internal customers on underwriting decisions. Develops and maintains documentation on underwriting processes and systems. How You'll Do It Assists Underwriter and Senior Underwriter as requested. Completes special projects assigned by management.

Keeps abreast of current underwriting practices, rating tools, industry changes and state and federal healthcare reform mandates. Provides assistance and work direction to Underwriting Support.

Required Skills

& Experience 2+ years related experience or bachelor’s degree in lieu of experience. High school diploma (or equivalent) Preferred Skills & Experience Associate's degree Clear and professional communication in routine interactions, active listening to understand needs, and adaptable messaging to support team collaboration.

Ability to analyze information, identify routine challenges, and partner with others to implement solutions. Experience leveraging technology to communicate clearly and professionally, actively listen to understand needs, analyze routine challenges, and adapt messaging to collaborate on effective solutions.. Ability to effectively organize work, balance priorities, and manage time across assigned responsibilities.

Knowledge of underwriting principles, health insurance concepts, risk selection, industry practices. Demonstrated knowledge of Individual and Small Group eligibility, state/federal regulations and medical terminology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Role Designation Hybrid Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote.

Hybrid is a minimum of 2 days onsite. Onsite is full-time onsite. Anchored in Connection Our hybrid approach is designed to balance flexibility with meaningful in-person connection and collaboration. We come together in the office two days each week – most teams designate at least one anchor day to ensure team interaction.

These in-person moments foster relationships, creativity, and alignment. The rest of the week you are empowered to work remote.

Compensation

and Benefits $60,000.00 - $69,100.00 - $85,000.00 Annual Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
