Description Overhead Crane & Hoist Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift) East Peoria, IL Sunday-Thursday | 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM $20-$26/hour DOE + Shift Differential Full-Time | Overtime Available| This is not an operator position You will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead cranes, lifting equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations throughout the plant.

Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) is seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Technician to support crane and lifting equipment maintenance at a Caterpillar facility in East Peoria.

This role is designed for a technician who understands crane systems and is comfortable diagnosing both mechanical and electrical issues. You'll work hands-on with overhead cranes, hoists, lifting devices, controls, motors, brakes, and related industrial equipment What You Will Be Doing: Perform preventive maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists Inspect cranes, hoists, and lifting devices for proper operation and safety Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical crane failures Diagnose problems with motors, brakes, controls, switches, relays, contactors, and sensors Perform repairs based on inspection and troubleshooting findings Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation Troubleshoot industrial electrical circuits and crane controls Respond to breakdowns and emergency crane repairs Complete work orders and document inspection and repair activity Perform maintenance and repairs while working from lifts and other approved access equipment Follow lockout/tagout and site safety requirements Support additional industrial and facility maintenance when needed What You Will Work On: Overhead bridge cranes and hoists Crane motors, brakes, controls, and electrical components Contactors, relays, switches, sensors, and control circuits Lifting devices and material handling equipment Mechanical and electrical crane systems Overhead doors and dock equipment Industrial facility equipment Requirements What We're Looking For: Previous overhead crane and/or hoist maintenance experience Experience performing crane preventive maintenance and inspections Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience Knowledge of crane motors, brakes, controls, and electrical components Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot circuits Experience diagnosing electrical and mechanical equipment failures Knowledge of lockout/tagout and industrial safety practices Ability to work independently on 3rd shift Comfortable working at heights and in an industrial manufacturing environment Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to obtain and maintain Caterpillar site access Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Additional Experience We'd Value Overhead bridge crane maintenance Electric hoist maintenance Crane controls and drives Motor and brake troubleshooting Crane inspection experience Lifting device inspection and repair Overhead door and dock equipment maintenance Technical training or industrial maintenance certifications Why Join MMS?
