Director, Mechanical

The person in this position leads and directs employees under regional responsibility to ensure proper maintenance of equipment. He or she develops and facilitates safety, training, and mentoring of all regional mechanical employees under the position’s jurisdiction; ensures compliance with all OSHA regulations and G&W safety rules for Mechanical Department employees in order to meet department safety goals; represents G&W as a responsible corporate citizen to the public; protects the environment according to G&W policy and appropriate state and federal law; manages the maintenance and repairs of freight cars and locomotives in order to meet AAR, FRA, and company standards and to reduce life-cycle cost and increase reliability and availability.
