Urgent Care Physician | Emergency Department Experience Preferred | Miami-Dade

Urgent Care Physician Bring your emergency or acute-care experience to an outpatient setting. Leon Medical Centers is seeking an Urgent Care Physician with strong clinical judgment and the ability to confidently evaluate and manage a wide range of acute conditions. Emergency Department experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and other urgent medical conditions.
• Perform appropriate diagnostic evaluations and determine effective treatment plans.
• Identify patients requiring a higher level of care and coordinate transfer to the emergency department when necessary.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic services.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters.
• Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Maintain compliance with applicable clinical standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current, unrestricted Florida medical license, or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred.
• Previous Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.
• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or other high-volume acute-care experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to independently assess and manage patients presenting with varying levels of acuity.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-service skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
