Job Description Additional Job Information PRN Overview Job Summary: Responsible for providing a variety of routine and/or complex tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination.
Job Responsibilities
- Understands test principles, theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas.
- Tasks to include, but not limited to, microtomy, embedding, staining, reagent preparation. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumental as necessary.
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to perform above tasks and responsibilities.
- Trained to complete tissue gross examination as needed.
- Must meet the High Complexity qualifications as written in CLIA 42CFR493
- Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: None required
- Supervisor Experience: None required
- Licenses & Certification: ASCP/AMT/ABB or equivalent Preferred Qualifications:
