Technical Surveyor
Job description
Description Kirkplan Kitchens & Bath is seeking an experienced Technical Surveyor to join our remodeling team. We are looking for a highly knowledgeable, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in residential remodeling, construction, and building codes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are accurately surveyed, properly documented, and ready for production and installation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed on-site technical surveys for kitchen, bathroom, and full interior remodeling projects. Perform accurate field measurements and verify all dimensions against original plans and sales drawings. Review existing site conditions and identify potential construction, installation, or design conflicts before work begins.
Have a thorough understanding of Florida building codes, permitting requirements, and applicable regulations for interior remodeling. Assess cabinetry, countertops, plumbing, electrical, walls, flooring, and other components involved in residential renovations. Read, interpret, and verify drawings, construction plans, and cabinetry layouts.
Identify any discrepancies between proposed designs and actual site conditions. Review finalized site measurements, layouts, and project details with customers, ensuring they fully understand and sign off on the verified plans before the project moves forward. Communicate necessary changes or concerns to the sales, design, permitting, and project management teams.
Ensure all technical information is accurate, complete, and properly documented to prevent costly mistakes, delays, and unnecessary change orders.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
We need someone who understands the entire remodeling process, not simply someone who can take measurements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction knowledge, understand what is and isn't feasible under applicable building codes, recognize issues before they become expensive problems, and take ownership of ensuring every project is technically accurate before being released for production.
Accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail are essential for this position.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in residential remodeling, construction, technical surveying, or a related field preferred. Strong working knowledge of Florida building codes and residential permitting requirements. Experience with kitchen and bathroom remodeling, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing, electrical, and interior construction.
Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and plans. Excellent measuring, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills and confidence when reviewing technical details directly with customers. Ability to work independently, recognize potential problems, and provide practical solutions.
Valid driver's license required. Apply Today If you have extensive residential remodeling experience and the technical expertise to ensure projects are measured, reviewed, and documented correctly, we would like to hear from you.
