Principal System Engineer

Job Summary

NXP Semiconductors Belgium is seeking a Principal System Engineer to lead the architectural definition, design, and implementation of complex embedded systems, ensuring cutting-edge performance and reliability for our next-generation breakthrough semiconductor products. We are actively looking for motivated and passionate system engineer(s) with prior work experience in system engineering, architecture and IP definition, etc.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the system-level architecture definition and design for new semiconductor products, encompassing hardware, software, and firmware aspects. Prepare technical documentation – product specifications, datasheets, white papers, presentations, application notes, and develop product demos that highlight the value proposition and advantages of products Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and verification teams to ensure seamless integration and validation of system components.

Develop and implement system-level test plans and strategies to ensure robust functionality and performance. Contribute to intellectual property generation through patent disclosures and technical publications. Perform competition benchmarking and product trade-off assessment Contribute towards standardization activities Job Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.

D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in system engineering, with a strong focus on embedded systems and semiconductor product development. Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams and can-do attitude Solid experience in wired and wireless communication system design.

Solid knowledge of multiple interface specifications like USB, MIPI, I3C, I2C, UART, SPI and GPIO. Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals and RTL (Verilog/System. Verilog) Good problem-solving and debugging skills. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, C, C++, MATLAB).
