JIB Accountant

Position Summary

A Joint Interest Billing (“JIB”) accountant is needed within the JIB/AR group to support the Accounting Department. This person would report to the Accounting Manager and is located in Downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions Assist with monthly joint interest billing process Process monthly rebills as required Apply cash for accounts receivable payments Resolve owner inquiries Prepare and record journal entries related to JIB accounts as required Prepare account reconciliations, complete JI Audit requests and maintain SOX compliance Assist with special projects or other accounting related assignments as requested This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related degree Strong analytical skills Strong Excel skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy Ability to communicate effectively within all areas of the organization Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
