Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of our growing property management portfolio. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in property accounting, strong operational oversight, and a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in cash basis accounting and experience managing financials across multiple properties and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions related to property management, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and owner distributions Manage and mentor the accounting team -both onsite and virtual-, ensuring high performance, accountability and professional development Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for property owners using cash basis accounting Lead month-end and year-end close processes across multiple properties and entities Maintain and enforce internal controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies Prepare and review owner statements, financial packages, and performance reports Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery financial reporting and operational support Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Oversee trust accounts and ensure proper handling of client funds Utilize App. Folio software to manage accounting workflows, reporting, and data integrity Develop, train and educate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to support scalable growth. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and stakeholders as needed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5+ years of accounting experience within property management or real estate Proven leadership and team management experience, overseeing teams of 8-12 employees.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines within a fast-paced environment Collaborative mindset with experience working across departments and remote teams Experience with client accounting and property financials Proficiency in App. Folio or similar property management platforms (e.

g., Yardi, Buildium, Real.
