How you’ll contribute A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role examines and treats patients with breathing-related conditions, performs diagnostic testing, and collaborates with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans. Additional duties include: Provides patient education on therapies and medication use; performs physiotherapy and related treatments.

Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer; may perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco-cessation education as ordered. Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment. Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions.

Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices. Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness.

Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment. Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. What we’re looking for Applicants should have a current state CRT or RRT license and possess an associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
