RN- Pediatric Individual Care at School

RN – School-Based Private Duty Nurse (1:1 Pediatric) – Mon–Fri, Meet at School (28270) Charlotte, NC 28270 | 2026–2027 School Year RN $42 per hour This position is open to Registered Nurses (RN) only. Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM Hours may extend to 2:45 PM. Off weekends, holidays, and every school break. No nights.

Position Overview

This is a 1:1 position: you care for one student throughout the school day. It is not a health-room school nurse role. Same student, same school, every day, so you build a real working relationship with your student, her family, and the school team. You will meet your student at school. Nurses do not transport students.

The Assignment Kindergarten-age girl, meet at school. Care is guided by the student's individual care plan and includes:

• Seizure monitoring
• Medication administration, including PRN medications as ordered
• Assistance with toileting
• Supervision to prevent elopement (wandering from the classroom or school)
• Documenting care on a tablet Ask us about additional assignments across Charlotte, which open often.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license: an NC license, or a multistate (compact) license issued by another compact state. If North Carolina is your primary state of residence, you must hold an NC license.
• RN: One year of related RN experience within the last 3 years, or one year of related LPN experience within the last 3 years
• CPR: Current certification from an in-person course (online-only certifications are not accepted)
• Online assessments: Willingness to complete online assessments
• Experience with children, seizure care and behavior support preferred. Orientation and skills competency validation are provided Newly licensed RN with prior LPN experience? If you recently passed your NCLEX-RN after practicing as an LPN, your prior LPN experience may satisfy the experience requirement for this position. Close but not certain? Additional Requirements All candidates must successfully complete the following prior to assignment:
• Criminal background check and drug screening
• Health screening and tuberculosis testing in accordance with agency and school district requirements
• Reference verification and license verification
• Agency orientation and skills competency validation
• Reliable transportation to your assigned school or meeting location This position requires the ability to lift and reposition pediatric clients, assist with transfers, and remain alert and responsive throughout the assigned shift.
