Material Planner Buyer

Description Using MRP Purchasing experience, the Material Planner/Buyer will help maintain supply inventory levels and handle vendor negotiations. The Material Planner/Buyer will work within the company’s purchasing policies and procedures and on cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics Review and maintain purchasing agreements with vendors Assess supplier profiles and analyze and compare multiple quotations Measure supplier performance based on quality, service and deliveries Determine optimal stocking quantities based on several factors including sales history, seasonality, input from sales, product experience and knowledge.

This analysis will require a strong analytical and common-sense approach. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on annual numbers Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders, and contact vendors when there are discrepancies Participate in or lead product innovation projects Requirements

• At least two years’ experience in Planning/Purchasing
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proven history of effective supply management
• Outstanding organizational skills
• A strong analytical mindset
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
