This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by improving their communication abilities and ensuring they can engage effectively with others.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in senior patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
• Provide direct therapy services to patients, focusing on improving speech, language, and communication skills.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques to support ongoing improvement.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in speech therapy to continually enhance service delivery.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices within the therapy department.Qualifications: Required Education:
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan. Required Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a senior care or healthcare setting.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective speech therapy programs for individuals with various speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Experience in conducting assessments and creating individualized treatment plans.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of speech and language pathology principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proficient in using assessment tools and therapy techniques for speech and language disorders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.

• Experience with Wellsky/Kinnser preferred
