Software Engineer II

Software Engineer II (Backend) $120,000-$155,000 Base Salary, Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits. Location: Hybrid working 3-days onsite per week at our San Diego, CA offices. (Please do not apply if you cannot work onsite in San Diego, CA in a hybrid position.)

Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II with a strong background in JavaScript or TypeScript and extensive experience in API development to join our small but dynamic team. As a Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in implementing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications, ensuring seamless integration with front-end elements, third-party vendors, and supporting the overall functionality of our products.

Major Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain APIs using TypeScript to support the functionality of our applications. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic. Integrate with third-party APIs to aggregate data from various sources. Implement server-side logic using TypeScript, with a focus on Node.

js and Next.js. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, design, and third-party vendors, to prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality software. Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for codes and APIs, enabling seamless collaboration within the team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development with Nodejs. Strong experience with TypeScript and frontend frameworks/libraries, such as React. Experience with Jest unit testing. Knowledge of microservices architecture. From ideation, develop and deliver major infrastructure projects to production. Experience with deploying software in AWS environment.

Experience in the financial or lending industry is a plus. Salesforce or other related CRM experience a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fair. Square is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
