Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Lagging Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.

Pipecoverers (Laggers) work with fiberglass, calcium silicate, PVC Nitrile rubber, barium sulfate, and all standard lagging coverings and provide anti-sweat, personnel protection, thermal and acoustic insulation treatments on all piping systems and major shipboard components as required by plan. Uses chicken wire and high temperature cement to provide a hard covering on some insulation materials and sews various coverings on other treatments.

Able to interpret drawings and insulation schedules as necessary to complete assigned work. Work conditions may include entry into restricted and confined spaces. Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and perform basic layout functions. Must be willing to work road assignments and work in Radiological areas of the boat.

Must be able to work all shifts. Must be available to work overtime assignments as required. Will be required to possess your own basic hand tools.
