Resident Assistant/Companion

MAKE YOUR EVENINGS COUNT The Woodlands at Furman is looking for compassionate, dependable Part-Time/PRN Resident Assistants & Non-Medical Companions to join our Connections team for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend opportunities. $13–$16/hour, based on shift and experience Training provided

Our Resident Assistants help residents maintain their independence by providing one-on-one, non-medical support in their homes. Depending on the resident and the shift, that may include:
• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Preparing light meals and snacks
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Assistance with activities of daily living within Connections guidelines
• Accompanying residents on walks or to activities
• Helping with hobbies and life-enrichment activities
• Providing an extra measure of safety, reassurance and peace of mind Sometimes you may be giving a spouse much-needed respite. Sometimes you're helping a resident through recovery after surgery. And sometimes your greatest gift is simply being there—present, attentive and caring. We're looking for people who are dependable, compassionate, calm, observant and trustworthy; people who can use good judgment, manage their time well and work as part of a team. Previous experience with seniors is preferred, but training is provided. If you're a retiree, empty nester, parent, or simply someone looking for rewarding part-time work, this could be a wonderful fit. Beautiful surroundings. Meaningful relationships.
