Substitute Campus Security Assistant

Job Summary

LIMITED TERM

• ON CALL / AT WILL here are currently no vacancies in this classification; however, substitutes are needed on a continuous basis. Successful completion of this examination will qualify candidates to become a limited term or substitute employee in a campus security assistant capacity.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Minimum 21 years of age
3. One (1) year experience working with students or any combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the essential duties (MUST show on application).
4. Contact information for three (3) Professional References: current/former supervisors/coworkers

• MUST be provided on application in professional references portion; please include email addresses. REQUIRED TO BE UPLOADED IN ATTACHMENTS:

1. Completion of a BSIS approved school security guard training. Certificate must be attached.
2. Current DMV Printout - can be obtained on DMV website (MUST be no greater than 30 days old) - please see link on right hand side for CA DMV Printout website.
3. Valid ADULT/PEDIATRICT First Aid and CPR Certification required; NO online courses; NO BLS (Basic Life Support) cards, MUST include Pediatric (Child) training* *can upload proof of registration in an upcoming, in-person CPR/First Aid class in lieu of card Must meet minimum requirements per the job description. Applicants encouraged to review entire job description before applying. REQUIRED UPON HIRE:

5. Valid CA Drivers License All required documentation MUST be submitted and attached to the application in order to be considered and to move forward in the hiring process. Candidates selected for appointment are required to be fingerprinted at the employee’s expense and must receive DOJ and FBI clearance before beginning work. Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position without hazard to themselves or others.
