Licensed Veterinary Technician

South Shores Animal Hospitalis seeking an experienced**Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)**to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules
• Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
• Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures
• Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
• Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
• Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation:** ** $25 - $29 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a flexible full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed for rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience

• Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in the state of Nevada**

• Proficiency in the following skills:

• Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery

• Surgical assistance and aseptic technique

• Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography

• Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement

• Radiology positioning and safety protocols

• Medication administration and accurate drug calculations

• Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
