Media Support Technician

Media Support Technician Position type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; overtime may be offered on Fridays. The Media Support Technician supports plant tissue culture production by preparing sterile media, organizing supplies, maintaining equipment and work areas, and meeting established quality and production standards.

Primary Responsibilities Prepare sterile plant tissue culture media by completing the following tasks: Wash and sanitize used media containers Use daily production lists to gather the required supplies and prepare trays Dispense prepared media into bags, boxes, and tubes Close and organize containers in trays according to established procedures Meet established standards for media quality, uniformity, and production volume Maintain a sterile workstation Operate the autoclave to melt and sterilize media, following established safety and operating procedures Additional tasks may include: Clean and disinfect floors, walls, ceilings, equipment, and other surfaces according to established schedules and procedures Operate UV light equipment to sterilize media and/or work areas as directed Key Traits and Skills Self-motivated, dependable, and efficient Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures Willingness to identify and pursue logical solutions to production issues Ability to work consistently in a clean and sterile environment English language proficiency required; Spanish language skills preferred
