Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to support our tax and accounting team with client work. This is an entry point into public accounting — we're open to a recent graduate with relevant coursework or a candidate with a year or two of hands-on tax/accounting experience, and we'll invest in training the right person.

It's a great opportunity to build a long-term career in the field while working alongside our Senior Accountants and Client Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of Individual, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trust income tax returns under the guidance of Senior Accountants and Client Managers Help maintain accurate books and records for clients (data entry, reconciliations, bookkeeping support) Respond to routine client requests and correspondence in a timely, professional manner Research basic accounting and tax questions relating to specific clients Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple client engagements Assist with new company initiatives as it relates to supporting programs that improve workplace efficiency and business growth Qualifications College coursework or a degree in accounting, or 1–2 years of hands-on tax/accounting experience Willingness to learn the Thomson Reuters tax/accounting software suite (Ultra.

Tax, Fixed Asset CS, Planner CS, Accounting CS, Onvio, and Practice CS) — prior exposure is a plus but not required Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Skills & Competencies Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team Eagerness to learn and grow within public accounting Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Schedule Full-time, in-office position based in Columbus, OH Overtime is required to meet tax deadlines — approximately 55–60 hrs/week from February 1 through April 15 Observes the firm’s holiday schedule Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience 25 paid days off per year, usable for either sick leave or PTO 12 paid holidays & paid firm holidays Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, with employer and employee contributions 401(k) retirement plan with company match Health Savings Account (HSA) option Strong professional training and development Commitment to work/life balance Questions?
