Residency in Global Theological Education
Job description
Gulf Theological Seminary was founded in 2016 to train pastors and church planters for the 10/40 Window. We offer M.Div., M.A., and other programs accredited by the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE). As of 2025, at sites in Dubai and Abu Dhabi we are training more than two hundred students from thirty different countries.
Courses are taught in English. We emphasize theological education in and for local churches, and are affiliated with Redeemer Church of Dubai, the Evangelical Church of Abu Dhabi, and selected international mission organizations. Gulf Theological Seminary is inviting applications for our Residency in Global Theological Education for the 2026-27 academic year (and subsequent years).
Designed for those interested in exploring the possibility of longer-term work in cross-cultural theological education, a commitment of one or two academic years will allow you to serve in a strategic role and learn through (English-speaking) cross-cultural ministry experience. Residents will serve as part of the GTS team, teaching classes in Bible and theology, and participating in planning, administration, and student care.
As with the GTS Faculty, this is a missionary role. As such, candidates would need to raise their own support for airfare, housing food, visa, transportation, insurance, and other expenses. For an individual or couple with no children, we may be able to provide a basic housing situation. Support can be facilitated though organizations we currently work with or through a different organization with which you may be connected.
This role will shape church planters, pastors, and ministry leaders for the least-reached part of the world by teaching courses in hermeneutics, exegesis, Old Testament, and/or New Testament, mentoring students, and producing scholarship that serves the church. Faculty may also have other leadership or administrative duties in support of the overall mission and vision of Gulf Theological Seminary.
Specific disciplinary focus and academic level of the role to be tailored to the training and experience of successful candidate. Candidates must be willing to raise missionary support and relocate to Dubai, UAE, where GTS is based.
