Build a well-organized, inclusive, and safe classroom where students feel encouraged to participate, collaborate, and grow. Track student progress through quizzes, tests, and assignments, and give timely, meaningful feedback to students and families. Recognize and respond to the unique needs of individual students, including those with special educational requirements.

Keep parents and guardians in the loop with proactive updates on academic progress, behavior, and any concerns. Stay current through ongoing professional development, bringing fresh strategies and trends back into the classroom. Team up with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to align curriculum and tackle school-wide priorities together.

Put technology and educational resources to work in ways that elevate the learning experience. Model and nurture respect, responsibility, and empathy, helping students grow socially as well as academically. Keep student safety and well-being front and center, including during emergency situations.

What You'll Need

A genuine passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and building a strong, mission-driven organization. Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred. Teaching credential or certification required, including state-specific certification or licensure as applicable. Classroom experience, including student teaching or internships, preferred.

Strong knowledge of educational principles, child development, and classroom management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the patience and adaptability this age range calls for.
