The Health Information Management Supervisor supports other department leaders with daily operations, coordinates and supervises co-workers and activities, and assists with process improvements. The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor takes a proactive approach to identifying trends and solutions, all to ensure continuity and consistency.
Position Details: Minimum Qualifications: Education: Associate or Bachelor degree in Health Information Management. Experience: 3 years in HIM/medical records; 2 years' experience in a leadership/management position. Certification: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).

Education
Experience: 5 years in a leadership/management position, or 3 years in a Release of Information or Master Patient Index role in an acute care setting. Certification: Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Technical Proficiency and Knowledge o Thorough understanding of database and IT systems, policies, and processes. o Extensive knowledge of health records, EHR, coding, and billing.
- Professional Competencies o Advanced analytical, problem-solving, data analysis, research, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated knowledge of coding guidelines and applicable federal/state laws and accreditation standards related to health information management. o Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Self-starting, independent, highly motivated, and organized problem-solver. Why Mercy?
