thebrodylab.org/ The Brody Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at Improving the Anti-Tumor Immune Response Induced by in situ vaccination. Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: the current phase of this longstanding Project is to potentiate tumoral recruitment of professional Antigen Presenting Cells, particularly type 1 Dendritic Cells (DC1) and assess the impacts on presentation and cross-presentation of surrogate and neo-epitope tumor antigens to tumor-reactive T cells as well as their subsequent priming and induction of systemic anti-tumor immune response.
Recent advances in the development and understanding of mRNA-lipid nanoparticles has facilitated our preliminary data showing that specific DC-recruiting chemokines can be mRNA-encoded and produced by tumors in vitro and in vivo to increase DC1-migration. Technical Duties: Perform independent research in the area of cancer immunotherapy and molecular biology, to develop in silico, in vitro, and in vivo data and models to assess the impact of chemokine-mRNA-LNP therapy on DC1 recruitment and induction of in situ vaccinal anti-tumor effects.
Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research Qualifications: Ph.D. required Experience working in a research laboratory setting This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee
