Junior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Junior Accountant to support the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance while demonstrating integrity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

(JD) Prepare and process daily financial transactions. Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Reconcile bank statements and company accounts. Process invoices, payments, receipts, and expense claims. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

Prepare journal entries and update the general ledger. Support payroll processing and statutory remittances where required. Monitor petty cash and ensure proper documentation. Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking. Support internal and external audit exercises. Ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable accounting standards.

(GAAP) Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1–2 year of accounting experience . (Internsip or NYSC experience may be considered) High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) Solid understanding of GAAP, the accounting cycle, and basic financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement).
