It further received a ‘Good’ rating by the Central Bank of Iraq. Today, NBI has more than 51 branches in all major cities in Iraq, and a branch in KSA. Linux Systems Administrator The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting the Bank’s Linux systems, servers, virtual environments, backup systems, and related infrastructure.

The role coordinates with relevant departments to resolve technical issues, maintain system availability, and support the stable and secure operation of the Bank’s IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create, configure, administer, and maintain the Bank’s core servers and server environments located in Iraq and other operating locations. Provide timely technical support for Linux systems, servers, infrastructure equipment, and related technologies to maintain service availability and operational efficiency. Diagnose and resolve faults affecting hardware, operating systems, servers, and related infrastructure.

Coordinate and follow up on the repair of defective equipment and systems. Prepare, install, configure, and test new servers, equipment, and operating systems. Monitor the distribution and storage of data across the Bank’s storage systems. Administer and monitor backup operations to ensure that data, system records, and configurations are properly protected.

Maintain and update Linux operating systems, virtualization platforms, backup systems, and related infrastructure applications. Coordinate with relevant departments to investigate and resolve Linux-related system and hardware issues. Apply system updates, patches, configurations, and security controls in accordance with approved procedures.

Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and resource utilization, and address identified issues. Maintain accurate technical documentation covering system configurations, installations, changes, and troubleshooting activities. Prepare and submit periodic operational reports to the direct manager. Follow the Bank’s information-security requirements, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory instructions.

Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the direct manager. Academic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline relevant to the position.
