Remote Hands Technician: A Remote Hands Technician provides on-site technical support services within the data center environment for customers, remote engineering teams, and internal stakeholders. This role is responsible for hardware installations, rack and stack activities, cabling, troubleshooting equipment, break-fix support, asset management, and executing technical tasks under the direction of remote operations teams. The Remote Hands Technician ensures timely response to service requests, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers exceptional customer service while adhering to all safety, security, and operational procedures.   • Wednesday | 9:00am-9:00pm (PST) Responsibilities: Perform Remote Hands services which are tracked through the client ticketing system. This includes, but is not limited to the following services: Equipment Rack and Stack Cable, terminate, and dress fiber or copper network cabling Assist customers with the diagnosis of hardware and software issues on their equipment Power cycling of customer equipment Perform cabinet/cage audits Blade/Card, Memory, Hard Drive, and Transceiver installation or removal Testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic circuits Assist with migrations of equipment, power, or networking devices Shipping and Receiving of packages Receive, install, and test customer and internal cross connects of copper and fiber optic interconnections Use of power and hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, drills, wire strippers, punch down tools, etc.) Provide timely customer and internal updates using a computer-based ticketing system Assist with the documentation and inventory verification/counts Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures Maintain overall Data Center cleanliness and appearance Work flexible shift schedules Report to the facility within a 1-hour average for emergency assistance as required Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred. 1+ years of experience in Telecommunications or IT related field, supporting data center, mission-critical, or colocation environments. Working knowledge of data center operations, hardware installation, asset management, and infrastructure support. Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server, storage, and networking equipment from multiple vendors. Understanding of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic installations, patching, testing, and cable management best practices. Experience using ticketing systems, asset management platforms, and operational documentation tools. Ability to interpret and execute operational procedures, maintenance tasks, and project plans. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively during high-priority incidents. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs. Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required If you are a motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for data center services and a knack for building strong client relationships, we want to hear from you. Compensation & Benefits Disclosure The base pay range for this role is $24.00 – $26.00 per hour h is range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave.
