How you’ll contribute An Ultrasound Technician who excels in this role: Receives patients, explains the method of procedure, and makes sure the patient is comfortable. Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities. Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area. Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound, and keeps patient flow smooth. Observes Radiation Safety Guidelines.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology required. Experience: One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred. License: /Certifications: Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification; BLS required within 30 days of hire. We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound.

The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area.
