MENTAL HEALTH ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST Division: Support Services Department: Wellbeing/Health Experience: Entry-level Job Code: TBD Supervisor/Reports To: Glenna Henson, LPCC Start Date: 8/24/2026 Support the THRIVE Counseling Center in promoting mental health awareness and coordinating outreach initiatives. Assist in communication, event planning, and committee participation to foster mental wellness on campus.

Responsibilities

Promote the importance of mental health awareness on campus – C, CTR, L, P, TW Set up and assist with counseling center activities (e.g., Mental Health Mondays) – TW, P, C Facilitate campus-wide communication via campus groups and approved THRIVE social media – C, T, CTR Create, design, and hang flyers and social media content to promote events – T, C, CTR Attend, participate in, and take notes at monthly student mental health committee meetings – C, P Assist with outreach, planning, and advertising of monthly mental health awareness activities – L, C, CTR Competencies/Skills: Communication (C), Teamwork (TW), Professionalism (P), Career & Self-Development (CSD), Critical Thinking (CT), Community Transformation (CTR), Leadership (L), Technology (T) Education Requirements: Must be a current UPIKE student in good standing.

Preferred major in Social Work or strong interest in mental health.

Preferred Skills

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media & New Technology, attention to detail, strong active listening abilities, public speaking, written & verbal communication, willingness to learn. Work Schedule: Will work with student schedule. Physical Demands: Keyboarding, Reaching/handling, Stooping/kneeling, Crouching/crawling, Climbing Number of Positions: 1 Pay Rate: $8.
