Department/Unit: Department of Information Engineering Closing Date: Until the post is filled The Department of Information Engineering (IE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor in the area of AI for Health and Science.

We seek candidates whose research combines advances in artificial intelligence with applications to health, biomedical sciences, and scientific discovery. Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Multimodal AI, foundation models, world models, and agentic AI systems for clinical health and scientific discovery AI approaches for understanding aging, disease progression, and biological systems AI-enabled personalized s ensing systems, predictive/preventive healthcare technologies and their clinical deployment Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline; (ii) outstanding accomplishments and research potential in AI for health and science, along with a proven record of collaboration with medicine and/or scientific disciplines, commensurate with the rank sought; (iii) a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching; and (iv) the potential or demonstrated ability to attract external research funding.

The appointee will be expected to (a) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in related areas; (b) establish an independent, externally funded research programme in AI for Health and Science; (c) supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students; and (d) collaborate with faculty members within CUHK and with external partners to advance research and education in AI for Health and Science.

Appointment(s) will normally be made on a contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to a longer-term appointment or substantiation.
