JOB SUMMARY

As an Assistant Buyer at LogistiQ, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Collects and prepares purchase orders. Generates purchase order to suppliers, executes delivery pull-ins, pushouts, or cancellations per operational need. Assists in forecasting and negotiating prices. Resolves supplier issues regarding logistics, pricing, quality, and accounting.

Assists in maintaining the ERP system up to date, ensuring visibility of deliveries. Assists with resolving receiving and invoicing errors on purchase orders. Reviews acquisitions for accuracy prior products are distributed. Monitors prices, specifications, and delivery dates. May own purchasing duties for product categories.

Assists in identifying departmental demands to proactively ensure needs are met. Liaise with suppliers while maintaining good relationships. Monitor supplier performance and quality, ensuring that the goods and services meet the required specifications. Maintains purchasing logs and records to ensure accuracy and follow through.

Maintains a supply chain that minimizes inventory while maintaining product availability. Maintains adequate inventories of purchased and manufactured material to satisfy the company. Collaborates with internal departments, receiving, and accounting on a regular basis. Contributes to process improvement within LogistiQ with strategic alignment with the overall business plan and focus of the company.

Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. TRAVEL DEMANDS: This position may require occasional travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

& REQUIREMENTS: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with internal teams, vendors, stakeholders & community leaders. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to be a strategic thinker. Ability to work as a team and independently. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high pressure environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization & employees. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP system. Excellent reading and writing skills in the English language.

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Successful completion of 90-day probationary period.

EDUCATION

& EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration or related field preferred. Related experience preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is pleasant, temperature controlled, professional office environment in a manufacturing setting.

The employee works in an office setting but does have frequent interaction with the shop floor. On the shop floor, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed and the air temperature fluctuates with the seasonal weather.
