Manager Trainee
Job description
Description Kickstart Your Career as a Manager Trainee at Budget in Kansas City! Budget is on the hunt for a dynamic Manager Trainee to join our Kansas City team. This is your chance to dive into a hands-on program designed to prep you for leading a standalone store or overseeing rentals and operations at the airport.
You'll get exposure to every part of the business—from chatting with customers and sealing deals, to inspecting vehicles, managing inventory, building client relationships, detailing cars, and keeping facilities running smoothly. It's a full-time gig with a 5-day workweek, perfect for launching your professional journey.
Sound like your vibe? Hit that apply button and let's get started! What You'll Gain: Top-Notch Benefits Package : Enjoy PTO, holiday pay, health, dental, vision coverage, and a 401K to set you up for the future right from day one. Unlimited Growth Potential : Score huge bonus opportunities and climb the ladder quickly—typically our trainees step into management roles in 3-6 months!
What You'll Bring
Customer Service Savvy : You've got that knack for making people smile—whether from retail gigs, campus jobs, or volunteer work. Sales Skills : Experience closing deals or persuading others? Bring it on! Leadership Vibes : If you've led a team, club, or project (even in school or extracurriculars), that's a win—professional experience is a plus but not required.
Eager to Learn : A positive attitude and hunger to grow in a fast-paced environment. Basics Covered : At least 18 years old, with a clean driving record over the last 3 years (some exceptions apply), and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Your Day-to-Day Adventures: Team up with managers to keep our rental agencies humming and handle the big-picture operations.
Keep an eye on operational departments to ensure everything runs like a well-oiled machine. Monitor our fleet and inventory flow to match customer demands and keep reservations on track. Master the counter system: Open and close rental contracts, tweak details, print manifests, and more. Help track daily inventory—both hands-on and digital—to stay ahead of the game.
Boost sales by promoting add-ons like extra insurance, GPS, or vehicle upgrades. Handle opening and closing routines, including security protocols to keep things safe. Tackle office essentials: Answer calls, order supplies, photocopy, and field everyday questions. Whip up reports and log your daily wins to keep everyone in the loop.
Solve customer puzzles—like explaining charges, handling vehicle issues, or giving directions—with a smile. Foster a collaborative vibe by jumping in to help fellow agents, nearby locations, or other teams when needed. Get involved in coaching and mentoring your crew to build skills and keep motivation high. Step up to assist with training, supervising, and inspiring team members to crush goals together.
This isn't just a job—it's your launchpad to a rewarding career in operations and leadership. If you're fresh out of college and ready to make an impact, apply today and let's drive your future forward!
