Position Summary

The Registered Nurse functions in the Outpatient and Main Operating Room as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of the Charge Nurse.# Performs routine patient care assignments and carries out established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process and AORN Standards of Care.

Qualifications

A.#Education:#Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (RN). #Bachelor degree of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.# #Required Certifications # Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or transfer to department. #####Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart#Association within six (6) months of hire or transfer to department.

#####Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American#Heart Association within twelve (12) months of hire or to#department. #####Minimal Lift is required annually. #####Clinical Carnival is required annually. Preferred Training # Certification: Trauma Norse Core Curriculum (TNCC) preferred. #####Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) preferred.

Training # Experience #####One (1) year of RN experience in acute care setting preferred. #####EKG course within one year of hire or transfer to department. #####Moderate sedation competency completed within three (3) months of hire or transfer to department. #####Complete the following competencies within three (3) ###months of#hire or transfer to department.
