Role Summary
Moves and transforms data across the County's legacy-to-modern data landscape: legacy mainframe/file-based data conversion into target systems, enterprise BI and reporting (Power BI, Databricks, SSRS/SSIS), and Oracle-based data warehousing and financial-systems integration. Reflects a County mid-migration — still operating legacy pipelines while building a modern BI layer.
Expect continued growth in Databricks/modern-stack reqs. Core Responsibilities Profile, cleanse, transform, validate, and load data from legacy systems into target solutions Support data mapping and crosswalk analysis across organizations and vendors Design and develop Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and row/object-level security Build and support Azure Data Factory / Databricks data pipelines and data warehouse solutions Develop and tune Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and jobs Design data models using DAX/MDX across Power BI, SSAS, Databricks, or Azure Synapse Support data loading and integrations using REST APIs and EPM Automate (for Oracle PBCS/EPM variants) Document extraction logic, validation rules, and data-retention/compliance requirements Facilitate knowledge transfer so business users can work independently with converted data Requirements Skills Required Power BI (Dashboards, Paginated Reports, Gateway, RLS/OLS); Azure Databricks; Azure Data Factory SQL Server / Oracle: T-SQL, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSRS DAX/MDX data modeling (SSAS, Databricks, Azure Synapse) Legacy/mainframe data formats, flat files, data dictionaries, ETL and reconciliation Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) / EPM Automate / Oracle Integration Cloud (for financial-systems variants) Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, Python, JSON Experience Required 5+ years experience in Power BI and Azure environments (BI-focused roles), or 3+ years supporting field mapping/crosswalk/data validation during conversion (Data Engineer roles) 3+ years designing Power BI Paginated Reports or Data Warehouse work with Databricks/SQL Server/Oracle 2+ years designing data models using DAX/MDX 3+ years working with legacy/relational data technologies (mainframe, DB2, FOCUS, Oracle, SQL Server) For Oracle PBCS variants: 7+ years implementing/supporting Oracle Planning & Budget Cloud Services, 3+ in a lead capacity Education / Training Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or closely related field Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
