Summary As a member of CFS Brands, the Human Resources Generalist will serves as a dependable HR resource for employees and leaders while helping maintain accurate employee records, timely payroll inputs, compliant HR processes and a positive employee experience. Essential Functions
HRIS Payroll and Employee Data Administer and maintain employee information throughout the full employment lifecycle, including new hires, transfers, promotions, pay-rate changes, leaves of absence and separations. Prepare , and submit accurate payroll updates to the Payroll team before established deadlines, including salaries changes, garnishments, taxes, deductions, and other employee change.
Calculate wages and coordinate with payroll partners to research and resolve discrepancies before payroll deadlines. Process employee status changes thoughtfully and promptly while protecting confidential information and maintaining complete documentation. Review payroll and HRIS processes, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend updates to systems, procedures and controls to the HR Manager.
Benefits
Compliance and Audits Support the administration of health, retirement and wellness benefits, including employee communications, enrollment activities, data updates and issue resolution. Prepare records, reports and supporting documentation for internal and external audits and respond to information requests in coordination with the HR Manager and plan providers.
Maintain required HR, benefits and payroll records in accordance with company record-retention requirements. Leave of Absence Management Independently manage the day-to-day administration of leave of absence cases, including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and applicable state leaves.
Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators; track documentation and deadlines; provide timely updates to the HR Manager; and escalate complex or high-risk matters as needed. Compliance and Risk Management Support compliance with applicable federal, Nevada and local payroll, wage-and-hour, employment and benefits requirements.
Assist with maintaining compliance related to EEO and Affirmative Action Plans, required reporting and internal HR documentation. Help identify potential compliance gaps and promptly elevate concerns, unusual situations or employee issues to the HR Manager. Handle employee information with discretion and maintain confidentiality in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
Employee and Labor Relations Case Management Independently manage employee and labor relations cases arising at the location, including conducting fact-finding, documenting concerns, coordinating follow-up, and maintaining confidential case records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements. Maintain direct and timely communication with the HR Manager regarding case status, recommendations, and outcomes, and promptly escalate matters involving significant risk or issues outside established guidelines.
Recruiting and Onboarding Post open positions, source candidates, coordinate hiring events, conduct preliminary phone screens and schedule interviews. Coordinate the new-hire onboarding process from offer-letter preparation through the employee's first day, including required documentation, HRIS setup and communication with hiring leaders.
Provide a welcoming and organized onboarding experience and follow up to confirm that required tasks are completed on time. Employee Support and Engagement Serve as a knowledgeable first point of contact for employee questions about benefits, leaves of absence, payroll, HR policies and related processes, escalating complex matters to the HR Manager.
Build trust through respectful communication, consistent follow-up and a willingness to listen to different perspectives and concerns. Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition activities, wellness communications and site events. Provide administrative support and participate in HR projects and other assignments as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related discipline preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Two to four years of progressive experience in a Human Resources Generalist role is required. Experience in HR operations, payroll coordination, or a related role within a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or other fast-paced operational environment is preferred.
Working knowledge of employment law, compensation and benefits, recruiting, onboarding, HRIS administration and employee communications. Experience with an HRIS, timekeeping or payroll system; experience with ADP or a comparable platform is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional judgment and the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
Spanish language skills are highly desired. Accuracy, attention to detail and strong organization when working with employee records, payroll information, benefits data and compliance documentation.

Initiative, accountability and strong follow-up, including the ability to take ownership of work, meet deadlines and communicate obstacles promptly.
