Job Description – Manager / Assistant Manager – Finance & Legal Compliance Location: Kolkata Experience: 4–6 Years Qualification: CA preferred; LL.B. added advantage. CMA/CS candidates with strong commercial law exposure may also be considered. Salary: ₹60,000–₹90,000 CTC per month Employment Type: Permanent Preferred Industry: Manufacturing / Infrastructure / EPC / Project-based Companies Job Summary We are looking for a Finance & Legal Compliance professional with strong knowledge of taxation, commercial laws, contracts, and financial compliance.

The role will support management in managing legal, commercial, tax, and financial risks.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal and commercial guidance to Finance and senior management. Handle legal and compliance matters related to GST, Income Tax, Companies Act, Contract Act, MSME Act, and other applicable laws. Review contracts, agreements, POs, work orders, leases, and banking documents. Identify and assess legal, financial, and commercial risks.

Draft legal opinions, compliance notes, risk assessments, and replies to statutory notices. Support statutory, internal, and tax audits. Conduct legal due diligence for business proposals and expansion projects. Track legal amendments, notifications, and judicial developments and assess their business impact. Maintain legal/commercial templates and documentation.

Coordinate with advocates and external consultants on litigation and legal matters.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of taxation, commercial laws, and compliance. Good understanding of accounting and financial statements. Strong legal drafting and documentation skills. Good analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and documentation management. Ability to manage confidential information and statutory deadlines.
