Senior Commissioning Agent

I. Summary A senior commissioning agent is the technical leader responsible for ensuring that building systems are designed, installed, tested and operate in accordance with the Owner’s Project Requirements and design intent. The senior commissioning agent leads the commissioning process from design through occupancy, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and facility staff to verify the performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls and life safety systems.

The role combines technical expertise, field troubleshooting, quality assurance, and project leadership to deliver high-performing, energy efficient buildings. II. Duties & Responsibilities Senior Commissioning Agent General

• Serve as the Commissioning Authority (CxA) for new construction and existing building projects.
• Develop commissioning plans, specifications, checklist and project deliverables.
• Lead commissioning meetings with owners, contractors, design teams, and manufacturers.
• Manage commissioning scopes, schedules, budgets and client expectations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to owners and facility personnel.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly and professionally.
• Participate in business development and proposal efforts.
• Help grow KLH’s commissioning services throughout the region. Technical
• Review design documents for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and control systems.
• Conduct field inspections throughout construction.
• Perform equipment verification and startup observations.
• Develop and execute functional performance tests.
• Witness TAB activities and controls integrations.
• Mentor commissioning technicians and design team.
• Support development of commissioning standards and best practices.
• Support development of Mechanical Department standards and best practices. III.

Qualifications

Senior CxA

• Education o Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) from an accredited four-year university or equivalent experience required
• Experience o 10+ years of experience in Commissioning, HVAC service, Building Automation Systems, Facility engineering
• Computer Skills o Basic computing skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Certifications o Commissioning Authority (CxA) IV. Performance Metrics Senior CxA
