What you'll do

Conduct technology scouting, literature reviews, patent searches, and market research on AI technologies for manufacturing applications, including computer vision, predictive maintenance, generative AI, robotics, and industrial data analytics. Identify manufacturing industry pain points and business opportunities, and translate customer requirements into AI-driven solutions and consultancy projects.

Develop AI-enabled smart manufacturing solutions to enhance productivity, quality, traceability, automation, and operational efficiency. Evaluate the technical and commercial viability of emerging technologies through data analysis, technology assessment, benchmarking studies, and industrial validation. Prepare technical proposals, project plans, funding applications, and business cases for R&D, consultancy, and technology adoption projects.

Prepare technical reports and presentation materials, and support project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and technology commercialisation activities. You'll be a good fit if you have/are: Bachelor's degree or above in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in AI applications for manufacturing is required. Strong interest in applying AI technologies to manufacturing, industrial automation, smart factories, and Industry 4.0 applications. Sound understanding of AI technologies, including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), optimisation techniques, and data analytics.

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct independent literature reviews, market assessments, technology scouting, feasibility studies, and solution development. Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, with the ability to prepare high-quality proposals, technical reports, funding applications, and client presentations, and to translate emerging AI technologies into practical manufacturing solutions and business opportunities.

Candidates who can demonstrate knowledge of AI, or experience and ability to apply Generative AI tools in their work, will be preferred Note:

2. This is a fixed-term contract position for a period of 24 months subject to renewal.
