
Job description
- Facilities Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee day-to-day operations of campus facilities, including mechanical & electrical systems, infrastructure, grounds, and utilities.
- Manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes.
- Ensure facilities are fit for purpose to support teaching, research, and student activities.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and educational sector requirements (e.g., fire safety, asbestos, risk assessments).
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Promote a strong safety culture across staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Contract & Vendor Management
- Manage and monitor outsourced service providers (cleaning, security, landscaping, M&E maintenance).
- Ensure contractors meet KPIs, SLAs, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, specifications, and service contracts.
- Financial & Budget Management
- Develop and manage annual facilities budgets covering maintenance, utilities, and capital works.
- Monitor expenditure, optimise costs, and ensure value for money.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and justifications for senior management.
- Project & Asset Management
- Lead capital projects, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades across campus.
- Review design proposals and ensure alignment with operational needs and compliance standards.
- Develop and implement asset management strategies and lifecycle planning.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, supervisors, and facilities staff.
- Conduct performance management, training, and capability development.
- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with school leadership, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
- Act as the main point of contact for facility-related matters.
- Drive customer satisfaction and ensure high service delivery standards.
- Sustainability & Continuous Improvement
- Implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives (e.g., green buildings, waste reduction).
- Use data and KPIs to identify areas for operational improvement and innovation.
Requirements
& Qualifications Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or related field Experience
- Minimum 8 years of relevant facilities management experience, preferably within education, institutional, or large-scale environments
- Proven track record in IFM operations, contract management, and project delivery Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, building operations, and maintenance practices
- Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and compliance frameworks
