This position will directly report to corresponding Area Operations Leadership and have a dashed reporting line up to our Global Substation Business Class Lead. %26nbsp;. This position will focus on technical excellence within the Substation Business Class in their respective area/region as well as technical deliver of projects.
%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cbr%3EThe Area Substation Business Class Leader (ABCL) provides subject-matter guidance, an industry recognized reputation for professional accomplishment, and a strongly recognized internal reputation of leadership within HDR. The ABCL provides HDR’s Global Substation Business Class with an area focused technical leader who will lead or support business class initiatives as well as support our area and regional operations teams.
%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cbr%3EDuties Include:%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EResponsible for staff development and mentorship including deploying technical onboarding, internal and external technical and/or business class training content, and technical mentorship for Area BC staff.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EParticipates in internal and/or external technical working groups or practice groups.
%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ELeads the implementation of technical standards, guidelines, tools, and recommended practices within their respective Area.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EFacilitates project-level lessons learned meetings or workshops.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EFacilitates the identification of project delivery team requirements (experience, expertise, availability) for critical projects%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPartners with Area Leadership to support area level technical and delivery staff recruitment and retention%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EParticipates and supports the local area/region in Go/No-Go’s, proposal development, and strategic pursuits within the Substation Business Class.
%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ELeads proposal technical reviews.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EDrives HDR’s Quality Processes and Procedures including implementing business class specific quality process enhancements and leading Project Approach and Resource Review (PARR) meetings.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAchieves a 70% to 75% utilization goal by actively leading or supporting projects.
%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cbr%3EPreferred Qualifications:%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EMaintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EExperienced in development and management of diverse teams%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EWorks cooperatively with regional business group directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECommitted to quality, improvement, and HDR values%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3Emust.
%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EActive participant in ongoing technical working groups (both internally and externally)%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ESubject Matter Expert or strong knowledge of a variety of substation design concepts.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EExperience designing and/or reviewing Substation Design packages.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EExperience mentoring and coordinating workshare with multiple area offices.
%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EStrong knowledge of best practices, industry standards, and codes related to Substation Design%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EGeneral knowledge and experience with substation design software%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EKnowledge and experience that align with Area and Regional clients, stakeholders, and regional industry standards/committees%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3E%26nbsp;%3C/p%3E Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline A minimum of 10 years of management experience.
