BUS MONITOR Job Posting: SCHOOL BUS MONITOR SCHOOL BUS MONITOR TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to pass a criminal background check DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline on the school bus; monitor & assist students while the bus is in operation.

Assist with safe loading & unloading of students & seating arrangements as required. Requires the ability to lift students according to established guidelines; must be able to lift, carry, push/pull weights up to a minimum of 50 pounds. Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures. Observe health & safety regulations.

Attend in-service meetings & training courses as assigned. Establish & maintain cooperative & effective working relationships with others. Understand & relate to children with special needs.
