Cylinder Maintenance Technician - Houston, TX

JOB SUMMARY

Reconditions cylinders by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

• Inspects cylinder interior and exterior before reconditioning.
• Devalves cylinders that need to be repainted and retesting.
• Tests cylinders for proper steel strength by using re-testing procedure of filling cylinders with water, pressurizing the cylinders with a compressor and reading the computer results.
• Determines if cylinder has proper steel strength from computer results.
• Sandblasts cylinders for repainting by using sandblasting machine.
• Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Repaints cylinders using spraying equipment.
• Revalves cylinders.
• Records inventory of new and re-tested cylinders, paint and valves.
• Cleans work areas, shotblaster, and paint sprayers.
• Helps load and unload cylinders from trucks when needed.
• Utilizes Lintrak in a variety of ways to help with asset management. Required for All Jobs
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
